“Hi Debra, I have followed you on Facebook for a couple of years now. I love your philosophy of “move first, diet second”! As someone who struggled with her weight for her entire life, I can now see how that would work so much better than all of the fad diets I had been on (obviously not working, I was 338 lbs last May right before I had weight loss surgery). I am feel blessed to have had my surgery, I have lost 115 lbs! I do believe surgery is great for some, but can also be avoided if people just change their mindset on health and wellness! Anyway, I have NO background in personal training, exercise physiology or anything related. Can you tell me where I would start if I were considering a group training approach like yours? I have been a stay at home mom for the last 15 years, I am dealing with a marriage that is falling apart. Despite all of that my new passion is helping women like me to find their healthy (not skinny) selves. There is so much more I could say but I won’t take more of your time. I would appreciate any guidance you could share!”
Hi April, I AM SO HAPPY YOU SENT ME A MESSAGE! We at ShapelyGirl fitness are here for support, motivation and inspiration and you can connect with women all over the world on our website! I am so thrilled that you lost that amount of weight as I PERSONALLY know how physically, mentally and emotionally damaging carrying that much weight around can be! I believe that getting certified would boost you up because you would be helping women like yourself. I too went through a difficult marriage but decided that I needed a new life and while I do not know your details I will tell you this…hang in there to the end! Losing weight was the hardest thing I ever did…nothing else even came close. My belief has always been to move your body no matter what size you are and I am looking for women who can share our philosophy in their communities. There is no experience required on a passion to learn!
Hugs,
Debra
