Toward a Healthier You!
Most Americans probably do not eat a good breakfast. Going to a donut shop for coffee and a muffin is not a good nutritious breakfast. For someone who wants to get healthy and change their eating habits breakfast, or the first meal of the day is important. For one it begins to fuel the brain with energy and the body with vitamins and nutrients. A muffin is usually filled with empty calories and lets face it, it really is a round piece of cake. So what should you eat to get the day started?
1) Fruit salad is a winner. Fruit is easily digested and gets the day started right.
2) Egg whites with some veggies is a power breakfast filled with protien. Some say that egg whites are one of the world’s more perfect foods.
3) Oatmeal is great, especially in the winter. It’s filled with fiber, lowers bad cholesterol and is so good for the body.
4) Low sugar cereal such as Special K, Cheerios, Bran Flakes or Shredded Wheat are great to get the day started. Add some fresh bananas, or berries and you are good to go.
5) Make a shake with fresh fruits, yogurts , a little honey and some ice. Delicious!
